About Kumu Kaleo
Aloha Dear One,
If you have found your way to this website, and have been reading what is here, you are probably wondering — who is this woman, and can I trust her?
That is exactly the right question to be asking. And I want to answer it honestly.
I know the exhaustion so many women are carrying right now. I know what it feels like to be doing everything everyone else wants you to be doing, while something inside quietly whispers that this is not the life you came here to live. I know the self-doubt that rushes in the moment you start to trust yourself. And I know what it is to feel completely alone in the middle of a world that seems to be falling apart — wondering if you will ever find solid ground again.

I have lived all of this. Not as a concept. As my actual life. And now, as a Kūpuna — a wise woman elder — with all the life experiences, losses, awakenings, and hard-won wisdom that come with this season of life, I can say with complete honesty: this path works. Because it worked for me.
For most of my early adult life I pushed through, thought I had to carry it all myself, and lived like a lone wolf — silencing my own voice and putting everyone else first. What brought me to where I am now was not a program or a quick fix. It was the ancient Hawaiian wisdom of Living Aloha.
That journey began in the late 1980s through the study of hula here on the mainland with several Kumu Hula — master teachers of hula — brought here from Hawai'i. In 1998 I traveled to Hawai'i to begin my study of Hawaiian spirituality and Living Aloha with Auntie Kahiliopua Wong-Brentlinger, an alaka'i to her aunt, Kahuna Auntie Emma DeFries — and to study sacred chant with Kumu Hula Aloha Dalire, the sister of Auntie Kahiliopua, also part of Auntie Emma's lineage.
In 1999, at Kīlauea Volcano, I was ceremonially given the name Kaleonahenaheonalani — the warm and comforting voice of the heavens — by Auntie Pua. And my path became clear.
Beginning in 2004 I continued the ongoing study of sacred hula with Kumu Kawaiakapuokalani Hewett and Kumu Susan Pa'inui Floyd — also carrying the lineage of Kahuna Auntie Emma DeFries, each transmitting a different strand of that same ancient wisdom.
In 2020 my second spiritual teacher entered my life — Kumu Mahealani Kuamo'o Henry, a Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) — and I began an intense training with her in the ancient teachings of Aloha Lōkahi, Ho'opono Pono Ke Ala, and Kānāwai Moaka'aka. That training continues to this day, and through it I have been given the title Kumu — as one of the keepers of this ancient wisdom — with the honor of carrying these teachings forward at a time in our world when they are so needed.
From over 35 years of walking this path — not studying it from the outside but living it from the inside — I created the Heart of Aloha system. Not as something I invented. As something I was given, lived, and am now honoring by passing forward.
I am not here to sell you another program. I am here because I know this path works — because it worked for me, in the middle of real life, with real pain, in a world that felt just as uncertain as the one you are navigating right now.
If something in what I share speaks to something in you — that is your own inner knowing beginning to stir. Trust it.
The door is always open — whenever you are ready.
Me Ke Aloha Mau Loa — With Love Always,
Kumu Kaleo
