Try as I might, I am not a girly girl. In a year and a half of blogging, I have only written ONE fashion-related post (and seeing as how I am an all-or-nothing kind of girl, I went all the way with that one!). While I am drawn to and admire the medley of fashion blogs out there, more often than not, I lurk quietly in the sidelines because I feel out of my element. I like pink, I like ruffles, I like sparkly things as much as the next girl, but in reality, I sport slippers, shorts and cotton tank tops 6/7 days a week. Braids and a baseball cap is my go-to hairstyle and I like--no, LOVE--boyfriend cut jeans and sweatshirts. So NOT sexy.
But as fate would have it, while looking for an article online today, my eyes were drawn to an ad in the sidebar for eShakti and curiosity got the best of me. I clicked on the ad, found myself in a sea of classic dresses and a little gasp actually escaped from me. Ohh, the prettiness. Beautiful dresses with empire waists and A-line cuts to flatter the pear-shape that is me. Classic, feminine and a maybe even a little bit retro. Me like. What did I find? Well, allow me to show you!
It's been a while since I went shopping - oh wait, I did buy a pair of shoes last week (purple suede flats that are impractical out here, but so very cute) but aside from that, I'd like to think I deserve a little treat every now and then. As any girl would do, I thought it appropriate to do a little damage. The upside to a shopping spree? A $20 dollar credit on first-time orders and FREE shipping on purchases over $100. Cakewalk!
I may not ooze style and grace, but there's a girly-girl hidden in here, somewhere. And I kinda feel like she's dying to come out.
And tonight, I painted my nails and added a little rhinestone embellishment. We'll see how long I can keep this up. :)

Ooh so cute! I think you would look stunning in these! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it Angie! You're the cutest! :)
ReplyDeleteThat first dress is amazzzzing! It' totally screaming my name! My husband will definitely be thanking you for showing me this ;)
ReplyDeleteYou live in Maui, don't you? We are going for a week in May and I can hardly wait!
I did a review for eShakti and was ridiculously impressed with the quality of the garments. Very nice choices!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I have drooled over their dresses for awhile, but haven't actually purchased one {yet}. Like you, I tend to go for jeans and a comfy blouse before I even think of a skirt or dress.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, these dresses are adorable! I especially love the green one... I know where I'll be looking for spring!
ReplyDeleteI can so see the green dress and the red skirt on you. They are both girly enough, but not too much that you wouldn't feel like you anymore. I really love the first one, but is it too frilly for you?
ReplyDeleteFor someone who isn't very girly girl, darlin' you have some great girly girl fashion taste.
You picked great dresses!! I love them all. I hope you enjoy wearing a dress, the looks of appreciation from Phil and just plain feeling beautiful. And of course, pictures, please :).
ReplyDeleteThese are all adorable and you'd look great in them I'm sure, but.....
ReplyDeleteSweetie, you're beautiful and sexy on the inside and man oh man does that shine through no matter what you're wearing! I just know you rock the boyfriend jeans and the sweatshirt!
Oooh these are gorgeous! Can' wait to see what color shoes you pair with some of these outfits!
ReplyDeleteI wear a floral Hawaiian-style "sunny long" dress almost every day! ;)
ReplyDeleteI want the fourth one! Love its design and the color of course. Great dresses!
