I want to be at the beach, toes in the sand, soaking up the rays and playing under the sun. Instead, I am sitting under fluorescent lighting, in an overly-air-conditioned office that is so cold it feels like a meat locker, drinking a Red Bull Energy drink because I'm feeling blah, and day dreaming. And now feeling guilty because I should be working, not blogging.
;)

I think we all have those moments. . .when we wish we were some where else!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture!
I am completely with you on this!!! I'd much rather be somewhere else then sitting here at this computer working. I'm working on the positive attitude about work but it doesn't work most days. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be at the beach too or even at home. I don't like how busy life has gotten all of a sudden. I'm NEVER home (which is freaking me out), my "to do" list is a mile long and I keep adding the leftovers from one list to the next and my clean, uncluttered calendar is now filled up and everyday has something written on it. It really depresses me. My only saving grace is that at the end of the day, we all come togetehr as a family to have dinner. It isn't about the food because we could be eating PB&J sometimes. It's about being together. We regroup, talk, laugh, yell sometimes, play, quote lines from movies and just live in the moment for a little while. It recharges me.
ReplyDeleteDo you live close to the beach? I mean close enough to walk to it? I miss being able to do that.
gabe: yesterday wasn't a very productive day at work. ;)
ReplyDeletetonya: I'm working on the positive attitude, myself! There are some days where I'm SO not in the mood to work!
susan: awww, friend. Is it possible for you to find a couple hours this weekend for some "you" time? Go for a walk, pamper yourself, decompress...take a NAP, even! I can't imagine what it is like to juggle a schedule of 5 little ones, but don't neglect taking care of YOU! I love the idea that at the end of the day your family comes together for a meal, even if it's PB&J (nothing wrong with that!). The act of sitting down to nourish your souls and bellies with family and food is truly a blessing, and you are so very fortunate!
To answer to your question, 4 years ago, Phil & I had a condo on the beach in South Maui. It was bliss, being able to hear the waves outside our window at all hours of the day/night, but it was also BLOODY HOT living there. We moved upcountry almost 2 years ago; it's much cooler up here and we have fantastic views...so it's all relative! :)
